audi chorus radio always goes into SAFE mode

hello, i'v allready posted this message in equipment general, but i think it belongs better here.

i just installed my original chorus radio (after 2years that i had my panasonic), connected all the wires as original and every time i turn of my car it goes back into SAFE mode.
when i turn off the radio it's ok, only if i take the key out off the contact.
is it passible that there is a battery inside that is flat? strange though because the station presets stay in the memory.
so the permantent 12V is correctly connected.
Oh, and for what is the K-link (D-bus) connection in connector A ?
and is it possible (with soldering if necessary) to connect an I-pod to this radio, i'd really like to know.

never mind, find out the cable with permanent 12V was damaged and gave "sometimes" a bad contact.
