This one is strange. 1986 Corvette with original Bose stereo cassette player. Fifteen to tweny minutes after turning on the radio it will produce audio. If I have it on, then stop the car for a minute, start it back up, I have to wait another fifteen to twenty minutes before any sound comes out. |

You've got the rotten filter syndrome, (leaky electrolytic capacitors) hopefully it will be repairable if the corrosion has not gone too far, if you are going to fix the radio then go up to the end and change the caps on the speakers too before they get shorted and blown the output stage. |
