Canon Powershot A85 - "no memory card" error

[Brainer]

Hello everyone:

We have a Powershot A85 which does not reconize memory cards when inserted.

I have tried:

Removing and resinserting date battery (It measures 2.88v - is that ok, or should I replace it to fix this error? It's supposed to be 3.0 - 3.1v)

Different Compactflash cards.

Resetting camera defaults.

Can anyone suggest anything?
