Panasonic Laser Head RAF-3022A

Hi. I am fixing a Yamaha DVD-S2300MK2. The tray motor is bad (reads high resistance) and the diagnostic on board give 999 for the DVD laser current, so that is in error also. Also the servo tests return ERR. I have a Panasonic RP62 that has the same traverse assembly, but the laser on it is RAF3023A. The laser on the Yamaha is RAF3022A. They look identical and have a blue mark below the laser head model in the same color (light blue). Can I use the RAF3023A laser as a replacement for the RAF3022A? If I decide to try it, is there a danger of damage to either the laser or the unit?
