Thanks for the help, very fast respond! Just try my luck.
Is that the Serial number start with GM1500 is able to obtain the free code but not the GM0500?
Anyway please let me know if someone can help me find the code.

Hi,
Like many others on this link the battery on my old Zaffy went TU and the radio was locked. I have been hunting for a link for free codes as the beast is past the £25 value to buy one. The car pass ticket I had in the logbook appears to be from a 1.8L car and not my 2.0L DTi!!!!!!!!
The radio is VDO CDR500E; ser no. GM050021516153
Can anyone help???

As the post above suggests for GM1500-- usually yes , for GM0500-- no
