Changing sound channel to 6 from 5.5 for Proline 418B/TX807

Hello,

Have a UK TV in Australia, which doesn't recieve sounds as the sound channel is set to the UK standard. Can I change a component on the board to change the sound channel so it works? I was hoping that there was a dip switch, but no such luck. If I can't do this for pennies, the TV will be thrown away.

yes indeed you can replace a part and get your sound.
in the IF stage (near tuner) there will be 2 ceramic filters with a "6.0" on them. if you know what you are looking for, will be easy. usually 3 legged ceramic capacitor looking devices.
replace them with same things labelled "5.5" (from scrapped AUS tv)
these will change the sound IF from 6MHz to 5.5MHz (AUS standard)
