Toshiba help please! blinking light

I have a toshiba TP50F50/TP50F51 which has a red light on the front that just blinks. When you plug it in it makes a ticking noise as though the tubes are comming on, there is no picture/no sound. Just a little red light blinking.
Is this a dead set?

Hello,
Your TV must be at protect mode,try replace vertical IC &Horizontal output transistor.

Hi there,

Your TV's SMPS is doing a power cycling ie. It trys to power up & switch itself off due to component failure. Its doing it over & over again that's why u hear the ticking sound.

Could be HOT or SMPS problem... Vert problem unlikely to cause this symptom. Can be tricky & unsafe to fix if u don't have TV troubleshooting skills.
