FM/AM presets will stay as long as the machine is on but if left off (AND still plugged in) for about a day or so they are lost.
This machine has a Toshiba chip which controls the radio functions. I would guess a capacitor is not holding a charge to this chip? Or the chip itself (Toshiba TC9147AP)? There does not appear to be any on-board battery.
