excuse me for my bad english...
The best way is to test SCR by apply a load (led or lamp) and voltage then drive it at GATE with dc voltage or pulse, so the load (led or lamp) light on....
SCR still in saturation until voltage (anode catode) go to zero, then another pulse for ignition is needed...
PS. scr is unidirectional (+ to anode - to catode)
