Denon AVR-1100 RD Problem

Hi All,

Have an 1100RD which will switch into standby but will not switch on.

Q: Do I need the remote to switch on? or should it switch on by pressing any control button?

Q: Is the control circuit anything like the AVR160? series?
( In which case I shall delve in with a meter! )

I know that sometimes these go into protection. But isnt the protect mode switched into after attempting to switch on? This one does not even attempt switch on!

ADDED: Oh, The standby light does go on, if I manually bridge the transformer relay nothing happens.

Any help greatly appreciated.
