flicker on tv

i have recently bought a new 32" lcd tv.Down the verticle side of the extreme right side of the screen. The picture has a slight flicker. when i change size of screen to cinema format, it helps to eradicate the problem.I am on ntl analogue, with just a few cable stations thrown in. it is the cable stations that are the worst. Would me getting a digital box help. or is it the tv. thanks. tom.

Does the set do this on all inputs? IE with a dvd player hooked up to say video 1.
