No sound from dvd player with one tv only

Hi, got a dvd player attached to tv (Bush 20"). PROBLEM IS THE VIDEO IS PERFECT BUT SOUND IS ONLY BARELY AUDIBLE WHEN really LOUD.
ATTACHED VIA SCART lead.
Scart lead and tv are ok as tv plays perfect video and sound when vcr is attached to tv via the SCART lead.
Mute is not on dvd or tv.
Tried playing a cd but the same happens
When I play the dvd on a different tv it works perfectly, video and audio
The BUSH tv seems fairly modern. Does not have headphone socket though.
Checked settings on dvd remote but as I say - it plays perfect on other tv - need to use it on this one though
ANY ideas will be appreciated

The Bush tv scart socket might need resoildering, i Have had tha same problem with a different tv. hope this helps
