Hi, I have a sony kd32dx100 television. I made some minor adjustments to the picture size in the service mode 'deflection' menu. This was OK, but suddenly the OSD went black such that I could no longer see any text or values. This is not restricted to the service mode OSD but the OSD at all times, meaning conventional picture and sound adjustment etc is not possible. The picture itself is fine.
Seems it might be a bug in the internal software.
Any suggestions on how this could be rectified would be very much appreciated![/code] |

Sounds stupid but, did you unplug the set for a bit and see if you can re-enter the service mode? |

Yeh, the menu comes up, but just as a black box. |

Did you try bringing up the screen control on the flyback? |

I believe one of the functions in service mode is in fact the OSD brightness level. That may have been the one you tweaked accidentally. I'm not sure which one it is, (IE how many button presses to go into the mode)
If you have NOT saved the changes you have made, you are probably still good! UNPLUG the set, and let it sit for 30 minutes or more. Plug it back in, and try again. BTW, if you didn't save your other adjustments, they will also return back to their previous settings too! |

Thanks for your help, but I've already tried leaving the set turned off as a last ditch effort, and sadly nothing changed! |
