U.P.S Help

Hello,
I just bought a new UPS and i dont know much about these stuff,
It works fine but when the main supply is on, i mean my computer is running with main power source, the UPS is continuously charges the batteries after every 2 minutes for 3-4 seconds... why this is happening even my battery is fully charged then why it is charging it again and again after every 2 minutes for a while... is it Normal thing for UPS's ??
