I have a Korg CR-4 four track recorder. Some time ago, heavy books were laid on top of my AC adapter jack while plugged into the device without my knowing. It won't power on unless I push the jack down and slightly to the left, but it is impossible to hold the cable in this position and I'm sure it's not good for my piece.

So I open this baby up with all that I know and I'm gonna fix this sucker. At least I know that this thing is built well. Mr. Green Finally I get all the screws up and different layers off to get to the jack, and I have no idea what to do. I see nothing connecting it to anything, no loose wires, nothing. I know nothing about curcuits, circuit boards; I even spell the word two different ways. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be and how to fix it?

Thanks!
Poor Noob.

It could simply be a broken solder joint on the jack or the jack itself. Or it may even be in the connecting cord & not the jack at all. All very simple to the technically oriented.... Sounds like you may need to ask a hobbyist or a technician

Vtech is correct. If you can push it down or in and it works, resolder the connector/jack.
