no, i don't really think demons..

We obtained this wonderful tv a few years ago. At first we had an intermittent issue with the tv turning itself on. Sometimes it would do it late at night, other times it would turn itself back on immediately after you turned it off, to the point where we put it on it's own power source.

I found that I had to use a remote on it, because which button on the front controlled which function seemed to shift as you pushed on the darn thing. Having a year old child with a zest for button pushing caused it further damage

A few months ago, the sound started intermittently going out, so we are now running the sound through a reciever, and we had to do so from the source, the sound to the speaker jacks on the back would go out just the same as it's own speakers.

Now it's developed a new quirk, which is driving us to consider repairs (home visits are expensive, and it's so large a tv that it's a pain to take it anywhere). The tv will change it's mode, from cable a to cable b, through the aux inputs, through cvi, and back again. It actually will bounce through them, maybe every 30 seconds or a minute, maybe every second. Turning it off for awhile usually alleviates the problem, but not always.

Any thoughts? Btw, I live a little North of Seattle, WA, if anyone has a recommend on a repair shop.

I know this sounds a little to simple but....

...I had a TV to repair a while back that had a similar problem, it would just do random things whenever it wanted.

The fault was with the remote controll!!!

The remote was telling the TV to change channel, turn up the volume and so on.

Try removing the batteries from the remote first.

Hope this helps.

Appreciate the advice, however I believe it has happened with multiple remotes. Next time it happens I will try, however.

It also doesn't account for the sound issues, which happen with the volume cranked and unmuted.
