Toshiba 32AFX61 tv remote problem

My Toshiba 32AFX61 Television won't recognize my remote any more nor will it recognize the remote to my digital cable box that was programmed to work with my Toshiba Television . It can't be the remotes because neither will work with the TV but the digital cable box remote still works with the digital cable box.

Is there a way for my TV to recognize my remotes again.

The Remote that came with my TV is model CT-90047 if that is any help.

Toshiba has had various problems with their remotes in the past. The only thing I can suggest, it is possible that the remote processor is locked up through static discharge.

Remove the batteries, take a paperclip or a piece of wire and short the wire between the battery terminals closest to the center of the remote for a few seconds. Then reinstall the batteries and give it a try.
