philips 28pw6517 and logik lck17ln2 lcd

hi all, i have a philips 28pw6517, this set was tripping with 1 small puff of smoke, when doing some voltage checks the line output transformer blew open, is this likley to be the only problem or does anyone know of other issues that stressed the transformer and caused it to pop?? Also i have a logik lcd (lck17ln2) this keeps losing the video signal and going to a bright white screen, almost as if its just the backlights working. have checked for dry joints and cable connections. if the lcd itself is squezed it seems to work again, could this be a tab bonding fault?? has anyone had this?? thanks in advance, Jon.
