hi there need some advice. i have a hotpoint washing machine wma11 first edition. when spinning in the fast spin machine sounds as if the bearings are badly worn in the drum. also when turning the drum by hand the bearings are noisy. i have looked at the machine fom the back and there does not seem any access to the drum bearings , can this be fixed is or is it time to buy the wife a new machine.. thanks

Are you sure its the bearings, as i had a similar problem with my first edition which i thought was the bearings but it turned out to be inside the drum, it turned out to be a bra wire that had gone through the drum but not the plastlic casing, so i took the waste pipe off at the bottom of the machine and turned the drum till at came out. and problem solved it could be just this hopefully because it can be a nightmare doing the bearings.

hi thanks for the feedback , wish it was bra wire. but the noise it is making suggests it is defo the bearings, but i will check out the inner drum. thanks :) :)
