This may be amatuer hour, but I've never had any luck with electronics so I thought I'd try it this way...Recently inherited a slightly larger (but still a dinosaur) television than the one I'd been using. Good deal, no? Problem is that the stock speakers on the things are terrible. I had been using external speakers (designed for video gaming) that plugged into the headphone jack of my old television and they may have spoiled me. The problem is my new television has no headphone jack, and not even the red input (has only white and yellow). Any way I can crack this puppy open and simple wire the t.v. speakers into the headphone cord coming off the external speakers? Or is this a bad plan? Would appreciate any advice.

If the set has a scart socket this should be used for connecting to an external audio device (normally via a scart to phono adaptor).
This would not be enough to drive a speaker directly but via an amplifier.

Won't pretend I know what a 'scart socket' is, but am pretty sure the set doesn't have one. The only connection is has besides the white and yellow inputs is the coaxial connection for the antena. Sounds like I'm out of luck, yes?
