This television was given to me the other day since it didn't work. The standby indicator light flashes when I try to turn on the TV.

The service manual says "If you press the power switch of the transmitter or the channel key on the remote control when in St-BYstatus, the screen will be turned on. If the LED blinks and the screen is not displayed, check the connection between the MAIN and The DEFLECTION BOARD" I've done that and everything appears to be OK.

I checked the 145V connection at the main board, and was reading approximately 72V. I unplugged the cable so I could try and isolate the problem between the main board and the deflection board. My 72V quickly became 145V and some notes were played through the speakers. The standby indicator blinks through this entire process and then turns on again. At least I now know that the problem (probably) exists on the deflection board.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into this. I intend to keep troubleshooting in the meantime, but I'm hoping to save some time. Smile

Thanks!
Chris

I have the same problem with a Samsung TV-6861 where the standby indicator just flashes. the TV is about 7 years old, but this is the first problem we have had with it. Can anyone please let me if there are any user serviceable parts to attempt to repair?
