Recently somehow my room fan stopped working for no reason. So i opened it up and found this weird looking fuse like broken part:
This is the whole fan.
This is the thing thts broken. Notice tht the circuit is open. And there is some sort of cylinder like thing in the middle. Which i think is a fuse.
This is the cylinder thing up close.
Is this what i think it is? a fuse?
And one more thing, these motors are made to run directly on ac current from the wall socket rite? which in my case is 220v. Coz i dont see any sort of transformer in it.
If u need more information lemme knw. thnx for ur time. |

Proabably it is a fuse,it might have gone open circuit. You can overwrite the fuse and test the fan. Before that you must check that motor shaft is free not jammed. Also checked that a/c motor coil resistance ,it should not read zero ohms which indicate a shorted winding. Also checked the startup
capacitor. |
