|
|
Hi i have a problem which im hoping some kind hearted soul will help me out with,we recently had a power cut at our home which resulted in my dvd recorder (Goodmans GDVDR305DVBT)not powering up, a month out of warrenty as usual.
i would like to try and repair this if i can and it seems such a waste and a shame to just throw it away.
after checking the fuses externaly and internaly they are not blown but on closer inspection there is resistor/rectifier? burnt out on the power supply board so i am assuming this is the problem as everything else looks to be in good condition on the board.
Trying to identify the marking on the blown part isnt possible due to the damage. On the board it says L103 where the resistor/rectifier? is ,this where i need help working out what it is and replacing it,i have done some soldering in the past so that shouldnt be a problem and i have posted a few pictures too to make things a little clearer here's hoping one of you guys can help me out, many thanks

L103 is designation of a coil & looking at the pix, confirms it. While you could easily replace it , (value not that important) looking at how it's burned & where it is connected to (one leg of opto isolator). Very likely that there is more problem(s) than just a burnt coil. Requires further testing of nearby components. |

I should clarify that the value of the coil is not important at this point since there is a some sort of a short causing it to burn up & must be determined |

Finally found time to check things out a little further,on closer inspection there appears to be a damaged 8 pin IC (ICE 2A265- about a quater of the top chipped off) and a cap which is bulging, the latter i have sought out a replacement for without much trouble, but the ic there's just enough info on the top to find out the maker and the value of it see link- anyone any ideas where i can actually a buy compatable one i have searched a couple of sites but not much luck, thanks Dave
