Hi,

I have the above model and it's failed. When you switch it on there's no picture on the screen but there is some sign of life, a pulsating hissing/clicking noise. I'm sure it's nothing too serious. Any ideas?

line output transistor is probably short circuit, usually caused by dry joints on the hv caps in the line stage. these caps may also have been damaged by the heat and arcing caused by the dry joints, also the e-w stage will have suffered as a result.
