changing out 2 convergence ics in hitachi 43FDX10B

If I have the set unplugged, is there stored energy anywhere? Do I need to discharge the energy or can I just remove the screws slide the panel back and remove the 2 STK392-120s ??

Its been a few days since you posted this; anyway if you haven't fixed it yet,
I can say that in this circuit, I don't think its necessary to discharge these caps. In contrast to working around the primary side of the smps where discharging the filter cap, is advisable.

you dont need to discharge to replace convergence ics.but make sure you check small value resistors by yoke connectos,near heatsincs for either 1 or 2 open resistors.
