My new portable media player uses the same interface for the earbuds (standard 3 contact 3/32 stereo jack) and for the proprietary (I assume) USB data/charging cable. The four contact jack is the same length as a stereo jack, but the ring farthest from the tip is split again to make a fourth contact point.
I figured I could make my own data/charging/travel/spare cables from USB printer cables if I can buy the 4 point mini-plug. Can anyone suggest an online outlet where I should start looking? Is there a standard name for the plug I can search for? Better yet, has anyone seen USB to 3/32 mini-plug cables pre-made?
