I am looking for 2 boards type NA18005-15 & NA18005-16 which are the thin film scan boards joined directly to the PDP screen glass. The drive chips(4 on each board) often explode leaving small holes in the black encapsulation.
If anyone has a broken screen that I can salvage the chips/boards from, please let me know.
They are used in any plasma display using the Fujitsu display panel - Fujitsu PDS 4207/08/09/11/13 & 4229 also some Philips and others.
If I'm successfull in replacing these boards, (not usually attempted as they are bonded directly to the glass PDP), I'd be happy to write up the procedure for others to follow. |

They usually go 4 at a time - either the outer 4 (odd scan) or the innner 4 (even scan) and probably 1 of the MOSFETS in the corresponding module
has gone short ciruit too.
I still haven't managed to get hold of any good boards so haven't proved the procedure, but basically, it consists of removing the silcone rubber carefully from the the ribbon, cleaning the the glass contacts REALLY well and then repositioning the the new ribbon accurately, clamping it flat and fixing it with new silcone rubber. |
