The Painter IC is the cause of your problem....replacement is the only fix.
If you are going to attempt it yourself, make sure that you
1) Get the correct IC (there are 4 variants)
2) Be sure that you are capable of removing / replacing this surface mount IC without damaging the PCB |

Hi
Ive been searching the web for weeks now trying to find a possible answer to my Philips 28PW6005/05 TV problem. I am not an engineer, but before I bring it to a shop, I would like to see if this is a known problem.
The TV is about 5-6yrs old, but lately it cant hold the picture. The screen blanks out for a few seconds and returns constantly. This happens after about 3-4hrs of running. Its almost like changing channel to the SAME channel.
When I turn it off and leave for a few hours, I get a view hours of viewing in before it starts all over again. I would appreciate any advice or direction.
Thanks

Hi,
mine has a different fault...
the sound keeps switching down by itself. after a time, if I keep my finger on vol + button on the remote, it stops and then starts again switching down. I didn't use it for a while (sick of this annoying fault) and when I plug it back it worked for few days and then started again with the same fault...
any ideas what could be wrong?
thanks! |

as usual fault will be the painter ic, this ic is responsible for 99.9% of faults on this chassis |
