Orion TV w/ possible bad pic tube - can it be saved?

Ok, so I find this little 19" Orion TV sitting on the curb and thought I'd bring it home for shits and giggles. just as i thought, there's no picture on it. Being VERY careful, I opened the cabinet and turned it on, seeing if something was burnt out. At first it was just a dark screen, no sign of light anywhere until I messed with the focus and brightness. I then managed to get a light gray screen with white horizontal lines flickering across it. That said, I'm a total newbie and don't exactly know what to check for or even if it's worth it, so I'm asking you guys: is there any hope for this TV at all?

P.S. sorry for the lack of pictures. I'll provide some tomorrow morning.

Apart from the horizontal lines do you have a raster on screen or washed screen,?
If you connect aerial do you get sound?
