Hello,

I have some 12 volt DC "rope lights" I am putting in my motor home. I am trying to find multiple dimmers to use for that.
\I am looking at Rheostats for this.
I need something that will handle 10 Watt.
The question is-- how many ohm would I need (whatever an Ohm is)
I need about 10 of these and I am just trying to find an economical way of doing it.

My suggestion:
Call an electrician.

You may have heard about rheostats but that is NOT the only needed device for application. What you need is a proper dimmer that can handle the current draw &/or wattage(10 watts in this case). Since you don't know what an OHM is, it is best left to an electrician or someone who is familiar-- just like it was suggested.
