Hello there everyone. I have a sony projection tv, model KP53V85, that went out of convergence a few weeks ago. After I researched the forums I found that the ic's were bad and caused a pico fuse to blow. I tested the six fuses and found that one fuse read 11.6 and the others all read 0 ohms. So after replacing the two ics and one fuse it allowed me to change the projector convergence.
The menu is perfect now and the sound has always worked perfectly, however, there is no clear picture; it looks like your dvd player is set for channel 4 and your watching a movie on channel 3 or something. I do admit there is a small strip of solid black boarder, about a half inch, around the tv meaning it needs to be stretched and centered. But I don't think this would cause the picture to be all fuzzy cause the menu is so perfect. I checked all the inputs and get the same results. Please can someone help me with getting started.

Thanks too anyone that helps.

After looking at a few things in these forums I counted the flashes that the tv signals when it starts up. The tv light flashes 6 times and I was told to check C515 and C516 and the jungle ic, ic206. I found all these but don't know how to test them. Can anyone help with this?

Six flashes = "No Horizontal (H. Stop), No Raster."

I'm confused ... If you have No Raster, how can you tell is a "fuzzy Picture?"

Well when I turn the tv on the light blinks 6 times and there is clear static in the background and when I plug the cable in it gives me a distorted picture. But the light does blink 6 times after it turns on with the set. Also, what does raster mean...I've heard a few times now. Also when a pull up the self check page +b OCP, +b OVP, v stop, akb, h stop, hv, audio, and wdt show all with three zeros on the right.

Noun

Wikipedia has an article on:
Raster

raster (plural rasters)
A scanning pattern of parallel lines that form the display of an image projected on a cathode-ray tube of a television set or display screen.

Are you using a cable box? Is the TV on channel 3 or 4? 6 blinks could AKB. One of the three tubes maybe over biased.

I found that download and used it to tell what was wrong with it. When I turn it on the red light is there then blinks six times. So I guess it could be 7 blinks. Also, I have a distorted picture not a solid black screen; it kind of look like tie dye on the screen but nothing resembling circles. I tested all the channels and even tried a vcr and xbox, but had the same results. I found those capacitors and the ic on the video board but don't know of anyway to test them. How would you tell if one tube is over biased? And how would you change this?

Thanks again for the help from everyone.
