does any body know about replacing globes in projection tvs ie are they easy to remove and when replaced do they need aligning . should i attempt it myself or leave it to the experts [knowing i will be charged heaps] i can get globe fairly cheaply. thank you.

They're called Projection Tubes, NOT Globes, one Red, one Green and one Blue.

If you are mechanically inclined (you can successfully take apart and reassemble CORRECTLY, a gun, a small engine, a washing machine, etc.) you should be able to swap them yourself.
Yes, they do require alignment.
