my dog went behind my tv stand and ripped my surround sound receiver down to the ground. now there is no power. i decided to look at my receipt and it was 3 days after my warranty expired, Mad to make matters worse, i lost my job and now dont have enough money to get it fixed so i was wondering if there was a wayi could troubleshoot it and possibly fix it myself with some help from friendly people! the model is a JVC TH-L1. when i plug it in no power comes on. any help or tips to get started would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Start by opening it up and look for obvious damage. Fuse rolling around loose, cracked Printed Circuit boards, etc.

(Sorry about the double post, but contrary to the "You can edit your posts in this forum" in the bottom right quadrant, for some reason I can't.)

By the way: I don't think they would have honored the warranty anyway. JVC's not responsible for physical damages (or dog's actions) to unit.

ive got it apart and nothing is rolling around or cracked, all the objects on the board seem to have both connections still intact. nothing looks wrong with the two copper coils either. thx for the quick reply

You've disassembled it far enough to see into the dark, obscured corners of say, the Front circuit board? Look at the outside of the cabinet at all eight corners - may point to where to look next.
