I have the exact same problem after I replaced the battery with a battery that I ordered from monoprice.com, but it is 7.4v instead of 7.2v like the original. Although on the monoprice website it said that it was compatible with the TRV66 model.
I''m not sure if there is any connection to the 0.2 volt deviation but I would like to know if anyone else had the probelm with a replcement battery whether from anohter supplier or form an original Sony battery.
If it is indeed the switch being defective or wearing out I would appreciate knowing how to replce and where to purchase one.
I live near by Toronto Canada.
Thanks |

Close enough for government work. Battery is Not the problem.
Check out you automobile battery sometime. The case says 12 volts, but usually will measure anything up to almost 15 volts. |
