Unlock code for Philips CAR 400

Hello all

I need a code for my Philips CAR 400. The car it's from is an Astra Mk4, the radio serial is GM0400Y2797057.

Darn, that's a shame.

I've entered the code from the Vauxhall security card that I got with the vehicle but it doesn't work.

Looks like the unit is either not the original, or has been recoded.

Is it true that putting the unit in the freezer can clear the re-code or reset the attempts counter?

Double darn! And an extra 'darn' for forgetting to sign in before my last reply....

So it looks like the only option is to let my friendly local Vauxhall service centre rip me off to get my own radio working, when it's the one that was in the car when they sold it to me and the security card is the one that came with the car.

I'm reluctant to try any of the online code sites as they all want £25 to give me the code, and I am worried I might get the same code that is on the card, if the set has been recoded. Or is the database updated when a set is recoded?
