I had this monitor for almost 3 years.. and was planning to have it for many more years to come,
but it broke completely out of blue and randomly, yesterday.

It's not a problem with my video card, or computer 100%.
I tried all sorts of resets on it and nothing helped.

It broke at absolutely random time too. I went to take a shower, came back and it was all weird like that.

I will include a photo in here and a video in the next post.

I can't find receipt for it, so I can't send it for warranty fix back to Samsung..
I hope you guys could help me, or tell me where I could get some help.

Thanks in advance,
SerJ.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/repairpolicy/servicePolicyWarrantySearch.do?group=computersperipherals&type=monitors&subtype=lcd&model_nm=204B&dType=D&mType=UM&vType=R&prd_ia_cd=05020100&acc_ia_fl=&disp_nm=204B&menu=repairpolicy

As stated in the above policy:
Quote:
The original dated bill of sale must be presented upon request as proof of purchase to SAMSUNG or SAMSUNG's authorized service center.

I presume a detailed credit card statement might help also.

Unafortunately you have two options :

- LVDS main procesor.
- LCD panel is faulty.

Bouth faults resume to buy a new LCD Monitor. Sad .

I have exactly same LCD, but it is still working (so I'm not too eager to pop it open) but I guess I could try switching parts out and see what is faulty...and with some luck perhaps find it on ebay?

if you refer to LVDS main processor as main board in monitor, then it isn't faulty.
decoder board, cable, and matrix itself i'm not so sure about.
i checked power supply or main board by swapping them from identical display, so they work for sure. :/

"i checked power supply or main board by swapping them from identical display"

If you have an identical LCD monitor...try your power supply and mainboard attached to the LCD panel from the monitor that works fine.

i did that too.
my lcd panel itself is broken. i asked on the forums full of electronics guys on russian and they said that my lcd panel died and that it is absolutely unpredictable and always possible, and that i would need a new lcd panel.

it's cheaper to buy new lcd. so i bought Samsung 2343BWX will be delivered to my in few days...

I will keep this monitor for parts in case something does break on the other one.

Better get a second one of Samsung 2343BWX you are expecting. I doubt that majority of parts in Samsung 204B will transfer to the new one.

Lcd's matrix can fail like that on absolutely any brand of monitor and all the electronics worked perfectly on it.

From personal experience I know that Samsung and Sony lcds break the least of all compared to some like sceptre or viewsonic, so I will trust them again.
