Base mp3 player

Base mp3 player, HK 260, 4 GB, lately is playing the opening notes for ten seconds and skips to the next song.
Repeated deleting ad downloading from Real Player of You tube clips three or four times have not cured the problem.
I may have done something --- am not sure what --- but my roving fingers do not rest quitely.
Went through the manual but could spot what I could have inadvertantly
pressed to change the normally playing thing into a frustrating junk.
Please advise me.

Most players do have a mode called 'play-intro'
From what you describe, you accidentilily selected this, resulting
in a 10 second intro that is played. Switch it off...
