You mean demagnetized. Yes it is and always will be valid ONLY if you still have a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) television. --not a Plasma or LCD.

Who do you get ahold of to do this demagnifying of a normal tv set.I have a sharp 32 inch i've had for 4 yrss or so.I seems good. I just heard someone talking about this last fall. I think he was talking about an Lcd Samsung. I've been wanting to buy a plasma and my sons have panasonics and i really like their picture and theirs is 720 and i will be buying a 1080. I do want to see the Lg's though first before i buy.

It is demagnetize --not demagnify. Any TV servicer with a degauser coil can do that. In general every CRT television already has a built-in degauser coil and there is no need for extra demagnetizing. Every time you turn on the set, it will automatically demagnetizes itself. So, the only time you need external demagnetizing is if/when the circuit malfunctions or the set may become too close to a strong magnetic field such as a speaker or a vacuum cleaner where the distorted colors won't clear up. Typical symptom of a magnetized picture tube is a rainbow color pattern in a corner or all over the picture.
