as my name suggests, I am novice, and looking to buy a router. What is the difference in a "WRT" router and a "DD-WRT" router? Linksys is the brand I am most familiar with. Thanks in advance!

Linksys is part of CISCO which is a large Company and I would ask this..

How many PC's are you planning on setting up as a network Question

if you are doing a network do you own also a server Question

a home based network is largely different over working on a Business network and I have seen this happen all the time where you need someone who is a IT person, and this can very in issues for example.

If the Network is being set up to access the internet and the web page is also on the same server and is hooked up to a 56K modem and not investing alot of money in planning a network system and complaints will roar in , issues with network crashes, modem disconnects, line haul noise on copper, etc..

I am closing in on my IT degree and know quite a bit of hearing issues ans well read about poorly designed network systems. and I still need internship time and have not decided yet on who etc.

a Degree program is an excellent way to go thats why I did not post myself as graduated with my degree level, or taken the A+ and the Network certification exams yet ( later on ) Exclamation

I am posting this so that everyone can see whats ahead and offer logical reccomendations.

As to web pages there are lots of good Webpage Hosting sites with what you need either as a shopping sites to just General Web Pages.

some others I have not yet yet met here being a new user to this forum may add their expertise.

Good luck
