Sansui Stereo Problem

I have a Sansui Stereo model RZ-8200AV. The sound clicks on and off about every three seconds. It does it whether I am listening to the radio, a movie, or my Ipod. The click you hear is rather loud and is coming from inside. When it clicks off the face of the stereo still remains lit. I'm wondering if this sounds like a simple fix or a complex problem.
