Hi,

I have a toshiba tdp-s3 projector, the same model as an Infocus LP500.
When the lamp failed, I replaced it, but wont strike.
Ive downloaded the service manual and diagnose the projector.
According to the service manual, the PSU unit is faulty.
On the HV unit section of the PSU, you can see sparks from the switching spark gap.
While the projector was running, Ive tested the current running thru the component and I can see that the moment it reaches to 360v, it discharges and you can see sparks from the component.
To my knowledge, it should handle the current upto 580v before it dischares.
Can I replace the switching spark gap, or is the HV unit on the PSU faulty... ?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanx,

Hein

MY TOSHIBA DOES THE SAME AS YOURS. IT STOP WORKING FOR A MINUTE
BUT I TOOK OUT THE LIGHT CLEAN IT WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS
UNTIL I MOVE IT TO ANOTHER AREA THEN IT STOP WORKING AGAIN.
THE SPARKS IN THE PROJECTION FRONT LENS WILL NOT TURN IT ON. IT MUST HAVE A BAD CONNECTION. MY BULB IS GOOD TEXT ME BACK IF YOU HAVE FOUND OUT ANY THING DIFFERENTLY.

THANKS, KHARL
