I have a Bush 28" TV (2871NTX) that is three years old. Last night while watching a DVD the picture shrunk. After about 30 seconds it returned to normal. This morning the picture is permanantly shrunk with large black areas to the left and right of the picture. The sides of the picture also curve inwards slightly. The colours are unaffected. Tried a good old fashioned slap but to no avail. I now have a 28" screen with a 18" picture.
Anybody have any ideas on this one.

fault is in the line stage, check r629 2r7, q603 buk444, high voltage capacitors in line stage one of which will be open circuit or dry jointed, the set is fitted with the vestel 11ak19pro chassis, this budget chassis is used by many manufacturers and is notorious for E-W faults
