Hi,
Im one of the suckers who bought a Tiny plasma, (tiny now gone into liquidation), anyways yesterday my tv developed a problem, about one 3rd of way in from the right of the screen I have a perfectly straight vertical line that looks yellow most of the time but on occasion looks black, when I get real close to the screen it looks like a whole vertical line of pixels is out, is this doom n gloom for my plasma ?
any circuit diags would alos be helpfull cant find any on here.

TIA

Ok, here is an update
Spoke to Tiny £1 per min told me to do a factory reset on the plasma,
As if that was going to fix the problem,
Guess what? It didn’t work; I was then told that I would have to pay
£100 each way for them to collect and return, told them I would ring back
with a pick up date,
meanwhile I decided to pull the back off and take a look myself,
30+ screws later I was in, here’s what I did, (1) pushed all the connectors to see if there was any loose, tried the TV, still the same, (2) remove more panels to reveal the ribbon cables connecting the pcb to the plasma screen, pushed them all firmly, and every one of them made a nice clicking sound as if to say they where not secure in the 1st place, turned the TV on again, and hey presto the line had gone, left it in this state for a few hrs turning the plasma on and off every 5 mins or so, replaced the back, connected it all back up, watched TV all night, then checked it this morning, fingers crossed all seemed ok,

I have seen similar posts on here about the same problem, and in every case the reply is “your board is dead” junk it, well I say don’t give up to easily, you got nothing to loose by having a look,

bear in mind these plasmas have a huge power supply with large CAPS so take care you can still get electrocuted if your not careful even with the power off.

hope this helps

Chris

species8472, i think this was more luck than judgement. The vertical line is caused by 1 of 2 reasons.

1) Breakdown in connection between the Data LSI chip and the bonded glass connection.

2) Data LSI chip failure itself.

I would guess that based on your strip down, and now the defect having disappeared that item 1 is more likely. The bad bit is that it will probably return at some point, the only realy way to repair is to find a specialist who can remove the COF (Chip On Film) cable and rebond it. By the way this process is not cheap. I seem to remember this costing around $250 ish.

Good luck !
