Sony Trinitron Flashes on and off

I have an older sony crt tv. The problem is that it flashes on and off. The screen goes totally black then the picture comes back on. The rate at which this occurs is dependant on two things. 1. How long it has been on. As the tv warms up the flashing slows down...to a point. 2. The whiter or brighter the content of the picture the more it flashes on and off. So for ex. a night time scene may not flash at all whereas a daylight or bright scene will flash more often. Any ideas? Thanks for any input which might help. Sony Trinitron KV-27EXR15

Rejuvenate or replace the CRT (Picture Tube).
