If you're over driving the panel because of the size difference I'd say yes. |

forgive me if im wrong but would the digital mainboard cause the lower buffer cof resistors to burn out ? |

Or try the original part number digital main board for the panel. |

the resistors and diode are failing due to the panel drive ics being sc, as these are part of the ribbon connectors the only course of action is to replace the pdp, not viable unless you can get a second hand working panel from somewhere as the cost of a new pdp is usually higher than a complete set. |

im not sure if they were blew when origanal blown board was in the set as i never checked them till today.
i replaced the blown bank of 4 470 resistors and 1 diode with good resistors and diode.
tested tv and noticed it blew all the new ones i replaced again?
so not sure if it is the new tuner or maybe just faulty panel as dont think any other panel would cause just 4 resistors and diode on right side of bottom buffer to blow again. |

You said the first board he tuner was out, I assume it didn't blow them before? |

i replaced the shorted 470 surface mount resistors on the lower buffer board
and the tv just blew the new replacements minnie so not looking good. |

hi minnie
on further investigation i have just noticed theres 470 surface mount resistors on the lower buffer boards controlling voltage to each ribbon i have noticed 8 of them are reading open circuit. and where they are is where the lines are on screen. ( the 2 banks of 4 are reading open, 3 470 resistors and diode )
do you think it would fix problem if i changed them ? |

thanks minnie,
i changed the 24c eeprom which had origanal service menu settings from the origanal tuner board into 42" board but it did not help.
should there be these thin colored lines on right side of screen with bottom buffer boards dissconnected?
as just wondering if it might be faulty panel or maybe somethink else. |
sorry forgot to login on above post. |
