I have a SONY STR KSL5 house movies program which after about 5 minutes closes off with the phrase "PROTECT" in the displa. There are no bermuda on the presenter cords. If I change off then returning on again 10 minutes later it works for about 5mins then go off again. |

well done guys...
IC501 was my case too... it was obviously not soldered properly - probably a mass production issue!
LP801 does not connect anywhere - it is a ground loop to tie the power cables with instead of using ferrite |

Sure does! Better get your "ears" checked.

Finally i have solved the problem!
The IC to solder is the 501 in my case. And now all works fine! For anyone that has this problem, check the welds under the plate for the five IC: 501 ic 601 ic701 ic751 etc....
YEAH MORE THANKSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I know the reason... In my case it was a bad soldering at the (5) Amplifier-IC below the aluminium heat-sink.
Only make the solderings new and it´ll work fine. I´ve done that at my KSL5 4 years ago and it still works without "PROTECT"
Sorry - but my english isn´t very good! Hope, you understand what I mean... |
Yes, and ...that was it! I re-soldered the five IC's, and IT WORKS PERFECTLY!
Many thanks! |
i have the same problem with this amplifier.
Can you help me to solve it? Wich is the Amplifier-IC to resolder? Can you tell me the procedure that you have used to repair it? |
