| Well, I re-soldered the wires, but I'm guessing it doesn't matter because I popped the speaker, or coil as I understand it, out when I was initially messing with them. This disconnected, from what I can tell, two wires in the yellowish glue. I assume I would need to get two new wires, scrape off the glue and connect them, which I'm not going to attempt as I think I'll damage the circuit board attempting to remove the glue. Thanks for the help. Was an interesting experiment. I hate the idea of getting rid of some headphones when 90% of the components are still good. | |

| Presuming there is enough wire, I'd unsolder BOTH, cut back 1" to 2," restrip, twist, tin ends and resolder each to the SAME terminal as per original. | |

| PLUG has three connections Ring - Center - Tip RING should have continuity to the Braided shield on BOTH ear pieces. TIP should have continuity to the center conductor of only one ear piece (left or right depends upon manufacturer). CENTER should have continuity to the center conductor of the other ear piece. Sounds like a broken center conductor of left wire at/near the housing. |

| I have a pair of Sony MDR-V150 headphones and the left speaker no longer plays sound. For awhile, it would go silent, but I could fiddle with the housing and it would cut back in. Now it is just completely silent. The right headphone works properly. I took them apart thinking that a wire had came loose, but I found that the ground and the green were attached. I have no previous electronic repair experience, but I do have access to a soldering gun. I'm looking for repair tips.
