My reliable and historically well preforming Toshiba M-781 VHS VCR from 1995 (serial #20834037 bought in USA) has taken to eating tapes instead of ejecting them cleanly.

My first observation of the ejection without the cover removed only confirmed something is going wrong. I was however able to rescue my crinkled tape without cutting it, small victories are nice sometimes

I am looking for any data sheets or service manuals available. My searches online have not been fruitful. Please share what you can as I attempt to repair it. I really appreciate your help and advice.
