| Hello,
I have a 20-year-old Mitsubishi stereo that I'm trying to repair. The stereo is split into two components, the 3-disc change cd player and receiver (TC-590) and the 2 tape decks and controls (AX-590) plus the speakers. The issue is the CD player won't work. After turning on the system the CD display is normal for approximately 5 seconds and then it says ERROR. The CD player makes no noise making me think it is an electronic problem rather than mechanical. After the error display comes up none of the CD buttons work but the rest of the system works fine. If I hit the eject button before the error message the 3 eject buttons will start to flash and will continue to do so until I shut it down. I can't seem to track down any documentations and an inspection didn't turn up any obvious problems. I'm working my way through a book on electronics repair, but I'm a complete amateur. I'd really appreciate any guidance anyone here can provide. Thanks in advance! |
