| Well after looking on and off I found what was the fix for my dead remote. The microprocessor needed to be reset. This condition could cause other problems also, so Id sugest trying it before sending in for repair. Unplug the unit, HOLD THE POWER BUTTON (2-3 sec) While plugging in. You know its reset if your radio stations or other settings are gone. Thats all that was needed to get my remote working again. Hope it helps if you have problems with this unit. | |

| HI I have a Kenwood VRS7100 that has stoped responding to IR codes. I have 2 remotes that had operated the reciever, factory and a programable one. Both remotes operate other equipment fine. I just bought another remote, upgraded it (over phone modem) with the correct VRS7100 code just to verify its a reciever problem and not a remote isue. The unit had worked fine then one day... nothing. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Im wondering if the reciever diod or an IC may be the cause? If you have a schmatic, parts list, troubleshooting tips, etc, ANY Help would be great.
